Hey creators! I've started a section on promotion in my guide, but it's a big section and I only work on the guide every couple of weeks, so I'm posting this here for now. Please note IT'S FAR FROM DONE, but I feel like the advice here is critical so I'm going ahead and sharing it. **How To Get Fans** *Shoutouts* Shoutouts are BY FAR the best way to get new fans. For the sake of this guide we're going to focus on shoutouts posted directly on the OnlyFans platform, but you can do them on any social media platform as long as you follow the rules of that particular application. A shoutout is when one creator posts a caption/photos of another creator inviting their fans to follow them. This exposes the shouted out creator directly to fans that already like and have chosen to subscribe to the posting creator. If you're similar to the person posting your shoutout, you're much more likely to attract potential fans as obviously everyone has a type. There are two main types of shoutouts: SFS and paid promo. We'll talk about SFS here, and paid promo in the next section, as both use the same principles. *SFS* shout out for shout out is when 2 or more creators agree to post the other's caption/photos at a specific time to share engagement with each other. This is a great way to get exposure to another creator's fans, while sharing your own fans. Free accounts benefit much more from SFS than paid subscriptions. When you have a free account you have lots of fans that aren't spending anything, so it doesn't hurt to share them with another creator. However, if you have a paid account or the other person does, you're basically telling your paying fans to go pay someone else. I wouldn't personally recommend doing SFS more than occasionally if at all on paid pages. A few notes: Make SFS temporary posts so they don't clog up your page or permanently detract from your fans. Some creators will be dishonest about posting your shoutout. Use your @ in your caption so you get tagged when it's posted. There are tons of accounts that are only made to promote themselves. These accounts tend to post 2+ shoutouts per day, and have low quality fans because their main offering is other accounts. Avoid these accounts by checking out the page of the person wanting to do SFS with you. My rule of thumb is a maximum of 1 shoutout every 24hrs per 10k fans. Set a minimum fan requirement to avoid doing SFS with empty accounts. I personally only do shoutouts with accounts that have at least ⅓ of the fans I have. So if I have 9k fans, my requirement is 3k+ fans. Set your own requirements based on your following size. It may be appealing to message accounts much larger than yourself to post shoutouts. This is rude. The creator with the large following worked hard to get those fans, and you can't offer them a fair trade. If an account is at least 3x your size, definitely expect to pay for promo. Don't ask for free handouts. Find smaller accounts that match yours and work your way up. *How To Write Your Promo* Probably the most common error I see is bad promo captions. When someone posts your shoutout, this is the ONLY thing a potential fan on their page knows about you, so it is the difference between success and failure. Start with an eye-catching line that describes what you look like in your niche. I.e. "Petite blonde MILF with DDs that LOVES to suck cock" On the next line, describe what a potential fan gets by subscribing to you. I personally recommend using emojis as bullet points here. Whether you are a male or female creator, it's male bodied people that primarily buy adult content. Sadly a high percentage of male bodied people have a short reading attention span on porn sites, as they're looking at the visual media offerings. This means you need to get their attention. Using brightly colored emojis/large text can help attract their eyes and make them actually read what you're offering. Breaking your offerings up onto separate lines also helps. I.e. "What you'll get when you subscribe: 🌺Daily nude and lewd photos 🌸Weekly full-length videos 🌷Chat with me any time" etc. Until you've listed all the virtues of your page. Think about this as a mini bio. Your goal here is to make people want to go to your profile, so be appealing. A lot of creators go for very clickbait-y titles claiming things like they're the best friend of the poster, that they do insane sex stunts, or that they're looking for a boyfriend. Be a class act and skip this type of scam my marketing, it will not lead to long-term success or fan retention. ALWAYS USE YOUR @ IN YOUR TEXT!!! I can't stress enough how many times I've had creators send me their captions and forget to tag themselves. If you aren't tagged, how will fans actually get to your page? In addition to your caption, choose 1-3 high quality images that accurately represent your offerings. Make sure you're comfortable with these images being viewed by people that aren't your fans. I highly recommend you watermark them with your @, that way they're harder to steal and if a fan does download them they know where to find you. If your page primarily offers full nudity/explicit content, your promo photos should also include that, simply censor them to make fans curious. I don't personally recommend using uncensored explicit content to advertise yourself, it's like putting fresh muffins unwrapped on an outdoor display case. Someone could steal your muffins, and for most passersby they're going to wonder how long your muffins have been out there instead of wanting to buy them. Instead wrap your muffins in a pretty censor-bow and describe how appealing they are. Make sure you copy your promo-text into a document, so you can just copy/paste it when scheduling future shoutouts. *Buying Promo* Paid promo is when you pay another account on any social media platform to promote your account. This could be by tagging you, posting your shoutout, featuring you in a livestream, or any other way that drives traffic to your page. Lots of people will try to sell you promotions in various forms. Most aren't worth it because they won't match your specific account needs, or they're just straight scams. Do your research thoroughly before handing over your hard-earned cash. *Basic Shoutouts* A lot of larger accounts offer what's usually simply referred to as "paid promo" it is the exact same thing as SFS, except you pay them to post your shoutout and don't post theirs. Shoutouts should last at least 1 day, and if you're paying for it, of course go for creators that offer permanent posts if you can. Many top creators offer extremely expensive promotions. Generally those over 10k charge $50+ to be featured on their page. I personally have not had much luck buying this type of promotion, but I know people that swear by it. My advice to you is never buy a promotion that costs more than you've already made and expect to make back from it. Remember you're buying a service. Do your research on any creator before you pay them. Go to their page and check them out. Request a free trial link if they're a premium page. Any page that won't let you see their content to decide if you're a match is a scam. Go to their profile and note a few basic things. A. How many fans do they have? B. How often do they post? If they have a lot of fans and post regularly but only have a few likes, that's a dead ass page. Move along. C. How many promotional posts do they make? If they post more than 2 shoutouts in a 24hr period, their fans are probably sick of or numb to shoutouts and again, move along. D. How similar is their content to yours? The more you have in common the better. E. Do their posts have tips on them? The more tips, the better the buyers. F. Do they post a lot of clickbait-y crap? Things like prize wheels claiming to give you $5000 in content, vague captions soliciting tips for sexy content, or begging for money are all bad signs. G. Are the other shoutouts on their page high quality? If they're posting crappy photos and captions, they don't care who they promote, which means their fans are numb to promotions. Move along. H. Are they a sexting page? Sexters have totally different fans from everyone else. They provide an active service that fans buy on a repeat basis. Find accounts that match yours. If you're a sexter and so are you, great. If one of you isn't, you're trying to sell a product to the wrong audience by working with them, move along. *GG:* Short for Guaranteed Gains, GG is when a creator promises to promote you until you reach a certain number of fans. Generally GG is only available for free and free trial link pages. How it works is the creator offers a price sheet, for example $50/25 fans, $100/75 fans, $200/200 fans. If you purchase the 25 fans, the seller will screenshot your fan count, then post your link X number of times daily until you reach 25+ fans higher than the original number on your free page. If you instead provide a free trial link, then you must update them regularly on how many claims you have received. Some advice: Choose your GG provider with as much research as possible. Make sure they look similar to you, because they're literally selling you potential buyers. Most GG providers have reviews. Ask for them. Make sure the provider blocks anyone who is rude or doesn't buy within a certain amount of time, otherwise they could be selling you a pile of bots. Block any freeloaders or rude subs so they can't ever subscribe again and count towards your GG total, as fans are often $0.25-$2 each. All the fans you get are going to be paying you exactly $0 when they sub, so your work does not end once they subscribe. You must have a wonderful sales funnel that will convert them into buying PPV or to turn on rebill. If you have a premium page and are sharing a free trial link, you are basically inviting people to look at your premium page for free. Don't do GG on yo
