Cranes bring the warmth of spring, The sun smiles high in May Everywhere awakening after long darkness, And once again we trust in fate. The grass is quickly appearing on the meadows, The fields and forests are greening up, To forget the twilight of winter, Returning only in the morning to our dreams. The cherry-blossom blooms again by the brook, No more evil cold, Every day the summer roundelay comes nearer and nearer, When time rushes on and on in a succession of cares. The crane flock is like a dream, And we're like children in love again, There's a wake-up call and the heavens are higher The clouds are melting into the blue horizon
