Hello, lovelies! I took a few days off from our travels together as I needed to catch up on inspiration! And here we are ;) A few days ago, we were all departing from Banff. If you remember, Banff is about two hours East of Calgary. Perfect reason for a quick getaway in Alberta's most populous city and Canada's fourth-largest census metropolitan area. Down below, you will also find my top restaurant suggestions if you ever visit it! :) What do you see on those pictures other than my lovely self? You will see the Calgary Stampede. They have a yearly rodeo over there. The Calgary Stampeders (CFL) play there, and the arena of the Calgary Flames (NHL) is in the same area. You'll notice that there wasn't much action when I got there. The only open thing was the Flames gift shop, and it was probably the saddest gift shop of all time. Well, I guess that's what happens when your last Stanley Cup was in 1989... You can also see the Calgary Tower (that illuminated dick behind me), a 190.8-meter freestanding observation tower in the city's downtown area. The name is as original as putting a tower in a city. For fuck sake, can't cities find a new idea? I've seen the one in Toronto, in Seattle, in Calgary, in Shanghai, etc. Those cities look like a bunch of frat boys wanting to whip it out to show that theirs is bigger than yours. It's fucking concrete, stop bragging about it and put it back in your pants! What about that street on the 7th image you may ask? (No one asked, I'm pretty sure, but it's my Onlyfans so I'll still talk about it ;) It's Stephen Avenue! It's a major pedestrian mall in downtown Calgary. The street is known for some of Calgary's finest restaurants, cafés, pubs, and bars. The street also provides an eclectic mix of boutiques and high-end retail. Now, restaurants..O...M...G ! I never expected to find such fantastic food in Calgary. It was CRAZY. Do you know why there are such incredible restaurants? Calgary is the richest city in Canada. YUP! It's not Vancouver. It's not Toronto. It's not Montreal. It's FREAKING CALGARY !!!! The annual average household income would even rank Calgary as the 5th most prosperous city in the USA, right in front of Boston! The oil and gas industry has helped the economy grow in size, reducing the unemployment rate and increasing wages. The presence of the oil and gas headquarters located in this city has resulted in establishing several financial service businesses as well. Where people have money, the economy flourishes, people go out to restaurants, and thus more restaurants open! And wow, this trip was worth it for the food alone! My top 3: Foreign Concept: Out of this world Asian cuisine River Café: The location, the atmosphere, the cocktails! Modern Steak: THE best Alberta steakhouse (local beef!) So, that was my 3-days in Calgary. It was a fun stop. I even think that I would go back if I ever have a reason to. Now, in the next few days, we'll drive together north of this city to reach Edmonton. Buckle up! Toodles!
