The War of the Roses can best be described as a slapstick tragedy concerning the decline and literal fall of a marriage. After 17 years, Oliver (Michael Douglas) and Barbara (Kathleen Turner) Rose want a divorce. Not for this couple is there anything resembling a "civilized understanding": Barbara wants their opulent house, and Oliver isn't about to part with the domicile.  * Best/ Worst Character: So, the point of the movie is to really show that BOTH of them are the worst people ever. So, it really does a back and forth sort of thing. I love and hate everyone in equal amounts… If I haddddd to pick a side to be on though, it’s definitely Barbaras. JUST GIVE HER THE HOUSE! * My Rating: 10. Perfection. * My Thoughts : 1st off, fun fact: Danny Davito directed this. I would not recommend this movie if you’re in the process of going through a bad breakup or divorce…. But if you’re in the right mindset, this is ABSOLUTELY a wonderful dark comedy. I have probably watched this over 50 times in my life, I watch it a couple times a year at least. :) Biggest WTF Moment: Danny Davito gives a woman a very sexual foot job with a pheasant gravy sauce as massage lube…. He is sitting at a dinner party table while he’s doing it. Quote To Remember: "What do you call 500 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? An excellent start." I used to resent jokes like that. Now I see them as simple truths.
